Cables and Drums
Frayed cable is a common salt air failure on older canal side homes. We replace both cables as a set, check the drums for grooving, and re-level the door so it stops pulling to one side.

Opener Repair and Install
Dead board, stripped gear, bad safety eyes or a unit that hums and does nothing. Repairs typically run $150 to $300. A new opener supplied and installed is usually $350 to $650 depending on horsepower and drive type.

Off Track Doors
A door off its track after a bump or a snapped cable is not a DIY fix. We secure the door, reseat the rollers, straighten or replace bent track sections, and check the hinges before we hand it back.

New Door Installation
Replacing a door in Broward means a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance or an HVHZ rated Florida Product Approval, because Broward sits in the High Velocity Hurricane Zone, plus a permit and an inspection. We handle the paperwork, pull the old door, and set the new one plumb. If your job prices over $2,500, there is one page you sign yourself, the construction lien law notice in your contract, and we walk you through it first. Single doors typically run $700 to $2,000 installed, doubles $1,200 to $4,000.

Corrosion Tune Up
Once a year near the beach is not overkill. We lubricate the torsion bar and bearings, tighten hardware, wipe salt residue off the springs and rollers, and reset the opener force. Most tune ups run $90 to $150.

Harbor Garage Door Repair is a new company working the coastal strip of eastern Broward County. We are not going to tell you a story about decades in business, because we do not have one yet. What we can tell you is how we work: one door at a time, priced up front, with the failure explained in plain language before anything gets replaced.
We built the business around what this coastline does to steel. Older waterfront houses, canal lots and garages near a boat lift all corrode faster than the ones inland, so we stock coastal grade hardware and we look at the whole system, not just the part that broke. How much does a broken spring cost to replace?
Most spring jobs run $200 to $500 installed for a matched pair, depending on the door weight and the spring size. We replace both springs even when one is broken, because the second one is the same age and will fail soon after. Price is confirmed before work starts.
Do I need a permit to replace my garage door?
Yes. In Broward County a door replacement is a permitted job with an inspection, and the door must carry a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance or an HVHZ rated Florida Product Approval, because Broward sits in the High Velocity Hurricane Zone. The garage door is part of the home's wind envelope, so this is not paperwork you want skipped.
Why do garage door parts fail faster near the water?
Salt air carries chloride, and chloride pits steel. Springs corrode from the inside of the coil where you cannot see it, cables fray at the drum, and hinge pins seize. A door two blocks from the Intracoastal can need hardware years before an identical door inland does.
Can you come out the same day?

Should I repair the opener or replace it?
Depends on the failure and the age. Safety eyes, gears and boards are usually worth fixing, and opener repair typically runs $150 to $300. If the unit is old and the gear case is worn, a new opener supplied and installed is $350 to $650 and we will say so.
My HOA has to approve a new door. Can you help?
Yes. Gated and waterfront communities here usually require approval on color, panel style and window inserts before installation. We can give you the product data sheet, the Florida Product Approval number and photos of the model so your board has what it needs to sign off.
